What’s happening?! Red Light Therapy is what’s happening

We recently were introduced to Red Light Therapy (RTL) from our fave podcast duo, Lauryn Evarts & Michael Bosstick of The Skinny Confidential: Him & Her Podcast and knew it was something we had to incorporate into our wellness routine for bettering sleep. 

So what the heck is Red Light Therapy?

Red Light Therapy is a treatment that uses infrared lights that may help the skin as well as other parts of the body, such as muscle tissue, heal. RTL also has a huge positive impact in regards to anti-inflammatory effects on the body. 

Aside from all those benefits, one of the major reasons we decided to practice RTL is to better our sleeping habits.

“If you’re in red light before bed, you’ll produce more melatonin than if you’re surrounded by synthetic blue light, and that can help you fall and stay asleep” . –JOOV

How we’ve incorporated this into our sleep routine

  • Our essential oil diffuser has a light setting that allows us to switch colors ( we used the deep red setting for when we head to bed)
  • Combining this with Lavender essential oils set the peaceful and restful tone for relaxation in the bedroom

So before you head off to bed tonight, try finding small ways to rid yourself of the blue light and think about investing in some red light bulbs or even investing in a JOOV mini.
